Tour Our Mushroom Yard
Make a reservation to visit our farm and see mushrooms growing outdoors on hardwood logs in a beautiful woodland setting! Tours are available from June through September by reservation only. Call or text 607-280-4216 to book a tour.
Learn about the ecological, social, cultural, and medicinal roles of the mushroom kingdom and see what it takes for a Shiitake to end up on your dinner plate!
The cost is $25.00 per person. There is some walking involved. Tours last about an hour.
Forest Foray
Learn the Language of the Woods.
Take a walk through the woods at Hawk Meadow Farm and learn to see the forest holistically as a living community of tree species, animals, birds, insects and more- even mycellium!
Expect to be walking for about two hours. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear!
Cost per person is $50.00

School in the Woods

One on One Consultation
We are so happy to see more and more people interested in learning how to grow their own mushrooms. For those who want to have a home scale operation for their personal use we have been offering mushroom inoculation workshops for several years now.
However, more frequently we have been getting inquiries from people who are interested in starting a commercial scale operation of their own. Camp With Us!
We offer two spacious and private campsites on our 68 acres farm.
Hawk Meadow Farm is a working woodland mushroom farm where we create the conditions for plants, animals and people to thrive. Camping here is an opportunity to experience both the function and beauty of our land. Many of our campers have been delighted to discover the variety of song birds and other wildlife that they have seen just hanging out at the campsite. Other attractions include dipping your toes into our pristine creek or dabbling in the world of log-grown woodland mushroom production.
Our sites are spacious and private. Each site can be accessed by car and are near one of two compost-style outhouses.
We also have a farm store where you can find our products and we often have fresh shiitakes available for purchase. This is a place for you to reconnect with nature and recharge your spirits! We look forward to having you stay with us.
